Founded in 1965, by Oscar-winning costume designer John Bright, the company has a uniquely distinguished reputation, built up over nearly four decades.

Cosprop is a specialist in the hire of original period clothes and the making of authentic reproductions for film, stage and television. The period in which we specialise spans nearly three hundred years,  from the beginning of the 18th century, right through to the swinging sixties and beyond. We also have a few individual collections covering earlier historical periods.

The company has amassed an extensive stock
of original, replica and reproduction costumes and accessories.

We offer a costume exhibition service to museums and historical houses. Exhibitions are often inspired by and themed to a particular historical film or TV drama, for which we can create a display, for example using our original costumes as a centrepiece. Or they may be based more loosely on an historical period, or take a theme such as, for example, wedding dresses.
